Ceramic Protection in Oakland County

A liquid-applied ceramic coating that chemically bonds with the paint and cures into a durable protective layer. Water and dirt struggle to stick, and washing gets far easier.

Worth knowing

Why pay for ceramic instead of wax

Wax sits on the paint and washes off in weeks. A ceramic coating chemically bonds to it and stays for years. In Michigan that gap matters more than it does most places: salt, sand and freeze-thaw cycles spend five months a year working on your paint, and a coating is the difference between washing that off and letting it sit there.

  • Years of protection instead of the few weeks a wax gives you
  • Water and road film sheet off instead of drying on
  • Helps protect against UV-related fading and oxidation
  • Washing gets dramatically faster, so the car gets washed more often
  • Protects the resale value of a vehicle you plan to keep

Questions

Straight answers

How much does ceramic coating cost in Oakland County?

Ceramic protection starts at $500 for a car or sedan, $600 for a crossover or standard pickup and $700 for a three-row SUV, minivan or full-size truck. It takes 6 to 8 hours. If the paint needs improving first, Ceramic + Paint Enhancement starts at $650.

How long does ceramic coating last?

A properly applied and maintained coating is measured in years rather than the weeks you get from a wax. How long depends on how the vehicle is stored, driven and washed. A maintenance visit keeps it performing.

Does ceramic coating stop scratches?

No. It adds a hard protective layer that helps resist light surface marring, but it is not armour and it will not prevent a scratch from a key or a stone chip. What it reliably does is repel contaminants, help protect against UV-related fading and oxidation, and make the car far easier to clean.

Does the paint need improving first?

Often, yes. A coating locks in whatever is underneath it, so swirl marks and light scratches should be polished out first or they get sealed in. Ceramic Protection on its own does not include that step. Ceramic + Paint Enhancement does.
